What is the difference between what you offer and what a VOQ/BOQ hotel or apartment offers? Almost everything. Renting from TDYme means you will be cared for like family.
-Your car is parked in a garage not out in the weather.
-You get private use of a washer and dryer, saving you money.
-Your kitchen is full sized and fully fitted with all the accessories you could think of needing.
-Off post housing means you can make the short commute each morning, but continue to have your comfort and privacy.
-Privacy, you get the peace and quiet everyone deserves, with plenty of space.
How much is the rent?
Our rents are based on a 30 day lease at GSA nightly hotel per diem rate of $83 in Sierra Vista Arizona properties.
When is the monthly rent due?
Unlike a hotel we charge our clients based on their GSA / DFAS limitations. Some students staying at Fort Huahcuca receive pay advances while others pay out of pocket waiting to be reimbursed. We understand every soldier's finances are different and we will work with you.
How do I go about asking you to hold a furnished rental?
Reservations are always taken in advance, just tell us what dates you'll need housing for, and we'll make it a priority to fully care for your needs.
Can I report early?
Your orders should state whether or not you are authorized to arrive and report early, it they do not specifically say you are not authorized to report early, you may assume reporting early is alright. If it is not authorized, ask your command.
What should I do before I arrive at Fort Huachuca?
First, contact us as early as possible before you arrive so that we can make all the arrangements you will need, and provide you with all your hotel accommodations possible. The sooner you contact us, the sooner we can provide you with the necessary information, and answer any questions. Making reservations well in advance will make it easier on all parties involved. When you do arrive, proceed to the Ft. Huachuca Lodging Office for an SNA, or Statement of Non Availablility confirmation number. Army MWR Lodging Central Reservations may issue this number before your arrival if you have made plans to live off post. Most often you should have the option to live in off post housing provided you have Command Authorization, or if there is no space on post, which is most often the case.
Do you accept pets?
Pets are on a case by case basis and property availibilty.
Misconceptions
Q:Can soldiers benefit from lower TDY Lodging rates in Sierra Vista?
A: Just the opposite. As the GSA lodging per diem increases, so do the benefits to the soldier. Military accommodations with extended stays are becoming more attractive to the hotel industry especially in current economic times. Rate increases allow older hotels to remodel and maintain a safe and sound environment for their guests. Lower rates may benefit the government but as we have seen on the battlefield, lower rates come at the cost safety and even death.
Q: Can a soldier keep the money from a lower lodging rate?
A: No. Lodging is a "you get what you spend" plan up to the max per diem rate. There are stories of soldiers being offered lower rates but getting invoices to show the max per diem rate. This is a fraud crime against the United States and obviosuly can ruin your military career.
